Apply for European Union (EU) Settled Status Now

Time is running out to apply for the European Union (EU) Settled Status Scheme.

For most people, the deadline to apply for the European Union (EU) Settled Status Scheme is 30th June 2021.

There are some exceptions for people who entered the UK after 1 January 2021 as the family member of an EU citizen. This group have a deadline of three months from entering the UK to apply for Settled Status.

It is really important to get your application in before 30 June 2021. 

Even though it will be possible to make a late application, you will put yourself in a very difficult position by applying late.

People who apply for Settled Status after 30 June 2021 will not have any status in the UK until their Settled Status application is decided. It can take several months for settled status applications to be decided.

While you are waiting for your Settled Status application to be decided, you won’t be able to claim benefits in the UK. You might also struggle to do things like start a job or rent a home.

People who have applied for the Settled Status scheme on or before 30 June 2021 will have their rights protected while they wait for the application to be decided.
