Scotland Bill and new welfare powers

A Scotland Bill, announced in The Queen's Speech to Parliament on 27 May gives the Scottish Parliament new welfare powers.
These include:
- £2.5 billion worth of new welfare powers
- The Scottish Government would be allowed to vary the frequency of Universal Credit payments in Scotland
- The Scottish Parliament would have the power to set the rules over a range of benefits which affect carers, people with disabilities, older people and to control programmes which help people find work.
